Career Services Advisor – Help People Turn Training Into Careers

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Career Services Advisor, you’ll work directly with students and graduates to help them prepare for and secure employment in their chosen fields.
You will:
- Coach students and graduates on job search strategies, resume development, and interview preparation
- Provide one-on-one career guidance and ongoing support throughout the job search process
- Build relationships with local employers and identify job opportunities for graduates
- Assist with job placement efforts and track employment outcomes
- Conduct workshops, career readiness sessions, and mock interviews
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and employment activity
- Collaborate with Academic, Admissions, and Financial Aid teams to support student success
- Participate in training and ongoing professional development
Minimum Requirements
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong communication, motivation, and relationship-building skills
- Strong interpersonal skills in individual situations with both large and small groups
- Effective presentation skills and strong customer service skills
- Effective teamwork, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to provide job search and career development services.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Word/Excel/Outlook, etc.)
Preferred:
- Minimum 2 years of sales or recruiting work experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in career services, recruiting, staffing, or workforce development
- Knowledge of resume writing, interviewing, or job placement strategies
