As a traveler in the ICU, you will join a dedicated, collaborative team that values communication, mutual respect, and patient-centered care. Nurses are supported by engaged leadership, respiratory therapy, and an experienced medical staff, creating an environment that allows you to focus on delivering high-quality care to critically ill patients. The ICU cares primarily for adult patients with medical and surgical diagnoses, including sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac conditions, post-operative care, and other complex critical illnesses. You can expect to manage ventilated patients, titrate vasoactive medications, and oversee multiple infusions while collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary care team. Typical patient assignments are designed to balance acuity and safety, allowing you to practice at the top of your license while maintaining high standards of care. This assignment is for 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., 36 hours per week, with every other weekend required. You will work alongside experienced ICU nurses and ancillary staff who are accustomed to integrating travelers into the team. The unit uses an electronic medical record system, and travelers receive orientation to unit-specific workflows, documentation expectations, and emergency protocols.
