Production Planning & Inventory Control Supervisor
What's the job?
The position is responsible for management of the Supply Chain at our Worcester, MA campus. The primary focus of the role will be to manage, create and improve those processes associated with fulfilling customer orders on time. Those processes will include Receiving/Shipping, Warehousing, Inventory Control, S&OP, Production Planning, and Inventory Management.
This critical role will drive the standardization of processes and training of direct and indirect team members; build a strong team; balance demand with capacities (using our S&OP process); help develop KPI's & reporting in the operation to maximize on-time shipping while optimizing productivity; maintain strong inventory controls; create effective communication processes with Plant Manager, Product Management, Customer Service, Central Supply Chain and Sales.
All these activities will be coordinated through our Sales and Operation Planning process to drive collaboration with the entire team and bring them into the planning cycle. This process will include all parties (including those closest to the customer) and drive accountability to the entire team.
Manage, create, and improve those processes associated with fulfilling customer orders on time and drive continuous improvement

All receiving, shipping, inventory control, production planning and inventory management processes are standardized and well communicated/trained for the teams.

Print production orders to ensure correct flow of production, processes rejections and print replaces, manage CS911 and KOP processes for expedited critical orders

Manage stock orders to ensure Distribution Center is stocked with correct levels of correct products

Manage finished and semi-finished goods inventory

Champion and ensure utilization of the CF&S pillar in the SA plant.
Receiving/Shipping, Warehousing, Inventory Control

Ensure the receiving, transferring and shipment transactions in SAP are done timely and consistently to drive a high degree of accuracy in SAP

Ensure on time shipping of intercompany orders

Constant focus on inventory accuracy through a robust cycle count program and aggressive root cause/corrective action focus for any variance or loss.

Ensure 5S of these departments becomes a daily discipline with the teams
Production Planning

Asset loading is optimized across all locations to drive shortest lead times and lowest operating costs.

Responsible for lead-time analysis and for updating lead-times in collaboration with Product Management and Customer Service

Balancing demand with capacities (S&OP) becomes a core competency and engages all functions.
Inventory Management

Inventory levels are optimized in all areas to maximize profitability and working capital performance.

Determine the most optimal inventory strategy for each item. The typical strategies currently used are MTO and MTS. However, within MTS determining whether a Push (forecasting) vs a Pull (Kanban reorder points) strategy is most optimal, will be up to this individual.

Manage inventory levels within the yearly inventory targets
Team Management:

Manages department personnel including hiring, promotions, recognition, discipline, and performance management.-

What do you bring?

Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business or Engineering discipline. Master Degree a plus

5 + years supply chain experience, people management in materials/production scheduling and warehousing, in a manufacturing environment

2 + years experience working in an ISO and regulated environment

APICS Certification a plus

In-depth knowledge of computerized manufacturing systems (i.e. MRP, SAP) Required

Inventory control expertise and forecasting background

Good analytical problem solving skills.

Proficient in use of computers and spreadsheet software with experience with business systems (i.e., Microsoft Office), and other computer hardware and software

Able to be Innovative - new ways of working, new solutions to challenging tasks to support evolving business

Able to coach, mentor, lead and train other colleagues across business units on supply chain processes and methodologies.

Demonstrated experience and comprehension of routinely applicable financial concepts:

P&L, Balance Sheet, Cost Accounting, Cash Flow, Capital Management, and Budgeting

Pay Transparency:
Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees' wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $89,500.00 to $138,500.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $100,240.00 to $155,120.00. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
