We are looking for a Litigation Paralegal to join a legal team in Boston, Massachusetts on a Contract basis. This position supports active litigation matters by coordinating filings, maintaining organized case records, and assisting attorneys with day-to-day case preparation. The role also contributes to meeting and event logistics, legal communications, and deadline tracking across multiple matters.
Responsibilities:• Prepare and finalize court-ready documents, including formatting pleadings and assembling tables of contents and authorities for filings in state and federal courts.
• Manage electronic and physical filing processes by submitting materials in compliance with applicable court rules and coordinating service of documents when needed.
• Maintain well-organized case files by updating pleadings, correspondence, discovery records, and related legal materials for assigned matters.
• Record key discussion points during client and case team meetings, perform factual research, and assist with drafting and monitoring legal communications.
• Support litigation operations through document production tasks such as scanning, printing, assembling binders, and handling incoming and outgoing case-related mail.
• Monitor deadlines and keep assigned litigation calendars current to help ensure timely action on filings, meetings, and other case events.
• Identify and track potential amicus-related opportunities based on court announcements and requests received from outside counsel.
• Coordinate logistics for department meetings and events by scheduling sessions, reserving space, distributing invitations, preparing materials, and arranging food service when required.
• Provide on-site or virtual meeting support, including room setup, distribution of handouts, audio-visual coordination, and assistance for attendees and guests.• Prior experience supporting civil litigation matters in a paralegal or litigation support capacity.
• Working knowledge of discovery processes, trial preparation activities, and document management for active cases.
• Ability to prepare and electronically file legal documents in accordance with court procedures and local rules.
• Familiarity with case management software and related tools used to organize litigation records and deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and maintain accurate case files.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with attorneys, clients, co-counsel, and external partners.
• Capacity to handle administrative and litigation support tasks with accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail.
