POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate & Foundation Relations, the Associate Director, Corporate Partnerships plays a critical role in advancing the corporate partnerships strategy for Boston Medical Center Health System (BMCHS). As a member of the Corporate Foundation Relations (CFR) team, this role is responsible for building, managing, and growing a high-impact portfolio of corporate and foundation partners in support of BMCHS’s mission.
In close collaboration with CFR leadership, the Associate Director will design and execute multi-year partnership strategies that lead to the successful cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate prospects across the Corporate Partnerships team. They will manage their own portfolio of funders capable of making six- and seven-figure gifts and grants. This position will develop tailored engagement strategies that align institutional priorities with partner interests, while strengthening long-term, multi-dimensional relationships.
The Associate Director will also contribute to the overall growth, operations, and sustainability of BMCHS’s corporate fundraising program. This includes partnering closely with clinical providers and internal leaders to deepen existing relationships and identify new partnership opportunities. In addition, the role will manage and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment that supports innovation and excellence in corporate fundraising.
The successful candidate will articulate the BMC mission with genuine passion and a clear strategic vision that inspires corporate partners and prospects to invest in key initiatives and supports significant growth in corporate funding. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, a collaborative approach, and the ability to identify and advance new revenue opportunities.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for a portfolio of corporate and foundation partnerships, guiding team members in engaging donors through in-person and virtual meetings, written communications, and tailored stewardship strategies.
- Maintain personal responsibility for a select portfolio of high-priority corporate and foundation partners, while ensuring team portfolios are strategically aligned to meet or exceed established revenue and performance targets.
- Lead the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of complex corporate and foundation prospects, supporting team members in closing gifts and multi-year partnerships.
- Drive retention and growth of existing corporate partners, with a focus on upgrading six- and seven-figure relationships and building a sustainable pipeline of new prospects to support long-term fundraising goals.
- Oversee the full corporate partnership lifecycle across the team—from proposal development and budgeting through agreement execution, fulfillment, and stewardship—ensuring high-quality delivery and repeat funding opportunities.
- Provide strategic direction and quality assurance for proposals, stewardship reports, engagement opportunities, and other partnership materials developed in collaboration with Development Communications and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of BMC’s mission, strategic priorities, and clinical and programmatic initiatives to guide partnership strategy and ensure alignment with institutional goals.
- Serve as a key partner to clinical leaders, program directors, and internal stakeholders, facilitating alignment between funding priorities and donor interests and supporting meaningful, well-prepared donor engagement.
- Collaborate with Prospect Development to identify, evaluate, and prioritize new corporate and foundation prospects, intentionally growing and diversifying the donor pipeline across the portfolio.
- Actively utilize Raiser’s Edge NXT and related CRM tools to monitor portfolio health, track performance, forecast revenue, maintain up to date records of donor interactions, strategies, and opportunities, and ensure timely and accurate documentation across the team.
- Establish, monitor, and refine portfolio and team metrics in partnership with CFR leadership to assess performance, inform strategy, and drive continuous improvement.
- Participate in annual fundraising and business planning, contributing to goal-setting, pipeline strategy, and resource allocation for the corporate partnerships program.
- Manage, mentor, and develop corporate partnerships staff, building team capacity through coaching, performance management, and professional development.
- Partner with colleagues across Development, and the CFR portfolio, to identify opportunities for collaboration and develop integrated fundraising strategies that maximize institutional revenue.
- Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on progress toward revenue goals, highlighting trends and identifying areas of improvement & success.
- Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 7+ years of progressive development, corporate partnerships, or sales experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Prior experience in supervising, mentoring, and motivating staff, with a focus on setting and achieving revenue goals as well as skills development and growth
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs):
- Able to build and manage relationships with high-capacity donors, volunteers, and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated fundraising success in corporate partnerships or related fields, and program development.
- Strong leadership skills and a proven track record in managing and mentoring staff and building a cohesive team.
- Excellent writing and interpersonal communications skills, with the ability to craft compelling donor proposals.
- Proven track record in working within complex programs managing multiple demands, identifying and solving complex problems, and balancing evolving needs.
- Skilled in working cross-functionally with clinical teams, hospital leadership, volunteers and development colleagues to drive fundraising success.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align donor interests with institutional priorities.
- Ability to engage and support volunteer leaders in fundraising efforts, leveraging their networks.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced evolving environment with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Deep understanding of and commitment to Boston Medical Center’s mission of providing accessible and exceptional care for all through traditional medical care as well as services that wrap around that care to enhance overall health.
Compensation Range:
$97,500.00- $141,500.00This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness. In addition, BMCHS offers generous total compensation that includes, but is not limited to, benefits (medical, dental, vision, pharmacy), discretionary annual bonuses and merit increases, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) savings matches, paid time off, career advancement opportunities, and resources to support employee and family well-being.
