Trust and Estates Operations Manager
Boston, MA | Hybrid (2 days in-office / 2 days remote) | $150,000–$170,000 Base
The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to build a trust administration function from the ground up at a growing, client-focused law firm. - Leadership with room to grow — this role carries real leadership potential as the firm continues to expand
- Flexibility built in — hybrid schedule with two days remote per week
- Competitive compensation — $150,000–$170,000 base salary, plus a full benefits package commensurate with experience
- Collaborative environment — a supportive team culture with direct access to attorneys and firm leadership
Your Day-to-Day
- Design and implement the firm's trust administration workflows, internal controls, and operational procedures
- Administer client trusts, estates, and fiduciary matters with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timely execution
- Manage life insurance policy payouts and coordinate with relevant stakeholders throughout the process
- Serve as the primary point of contact for attorneys and clients on trust administration matters
- Optimize systems and workflows to support scalable, efficient fiduciary operations
- Collaborate with attorneys, accountants, and banking partners to resolve complex fiduciary issues
- Drive continuous improvement and ensure ongoing compliance across all trust and estate activities
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree required; JD, LLM, or fiduciary certification (CTFA or equivalent) strongly preferred
- 10+ years of experience in trust administration, estate planning, or fiduciary operations; prior leadership experience preferred
- Deep knowledge of trust law, probate procedures, and life insurance payout processes
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with a high attention to detail
- Clear, confident communicator — equally effective with clients and internal stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a complex environment
