The Financial Analytics, Reporting & Budget team supports CHA’s financial health by leading budget development, financial reporting, and data analysis. Working closely with leadership, the team ensures alignment between financial performance and organizational goals, helping drive strategic decisions, cost efficiency, and operational improvement across the health system.
The Accountant II supports the department’s accounting and financial close processes by performing general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This position ensures the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data and provides reporting support through STRATA Axiom to strengthen accounting workflow efficiency and reliability.
The Accountant II performs general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and supports the monthly and annual financial close processes. This role ensures accuracy and completeness of financial data and assists with accounting reporting using STRATA Axiom and other financial systems. The position supports departmental accounting operations by maintaining timely, accurate records and contributing to an efficient close process.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting Functions
Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments.
Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate reconciliation schedules.
Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes through timely and accurate accounting activities.
Review and analyze assigned expense accounts to ensure accurate classification and adherence to accounting standards and internal controls.
Assist with year-end close activities and external audit support, including documentation and schedules.
All other duties as assigned
STRATA Axiom Reporting Support
Utilize STRATA Axiom to support accounting and month-end close activities, including running standard financial reports and validation outputs.
Support data verification between accounting records and financial reporting outputs.
Assist with maintaining standard accounting reports and outputs used for close and reconciliation activities.
Serve as a department resource for routine Axiom report execution questions related to accounting tasks.
Support periodic system updates and testing by validating accounting data and report outputs.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
Collaborate with colleagues across the Accounting and Financial Analysis teams to maintain consistency between ledger activity and reporting outputs.
Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on improving the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of the monthly close.
Provide cross-coverage during peak close and reporting periods as needed.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
2–4 years of progressively responsible accounting or financial reporting experience preferred.
Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
Experience using Meditech and/or STRATA Axiom or similar financial reporting systems preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a structured close environment.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:
Full-time day position with a hybrid work environment
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet reporting deadlines
Ability to collaborate with various departments and service line leaders
