Network & Security Lead - MSP
Network & Security Lead –MSP- New England Territory
*US Citizens or GC Holders
*Must have worked at a similar type of MSP
*based remote but 25% travel to customers in the New England Territory
Overview
We’re seeking a hands-on technical leader to guide our engineering team through the successful execution of complex network and security projects. This role combines technical oversight, team mentorship, and direct client engagement. You’ll ensure solutions meet business needs, align with best practices, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead end-to-end execution of network and security projects, from design and staging to installation, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure network designs meet business objectives, budget constraints, and operational requirements, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and security.
- Oversee troubleshooting for complex technical issues, guiding engineers during deployments.
Client Engagement
- Serve as the primary technical leader for all service engagements, including managing escalations.
- Lead design workshops and participate in pre-sales activities for professional services projects.
Business & Team Management
- Collaborate with sales, pre-sales, project management, and engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering both technical expertise and professional growth.
Required Qualifications
Networking Expertise
- Advanced skills in multi-protocol routing/switching design, configuration, and troubleshooting (Cisco best practices).
- In-depth knowledge of OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, IP addressing, TCP/IP, OSI model, and common TCP/UDP ports/services.
- Proven experience in network security, including device hardening and protocol implementation.
Cloud & SD-WAN
- Strong experience with cloud networking in AWS, Azure, GCP, and Aviatrix.
- Hands-on deployment of SD-WAN solutions (Viptela, Silverpeak, Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN).
Security Solutions
- Skilled in deploying and managing security tools from Palo Alto Networks (Panorama, Prisma Access, Prisma Cloud) and Cisco (FirePower/FTD, Meraki MX, FMC).
- Ability to implement secure network infrastructures aligned with industry standards.
Experience & Education
- 8+ years in networking/security engineering, design, and project implementation.
- 2+ years in a leadership or team management role (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, IT, or related field — or equivalent military experience.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Fortinet products (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer).
- Familiarity with Arista (CloudVision) and Aruba (CX, OS, VSX/VSF) solutions.
- Network automation/scripting experience (Python, EMM, TCL).
- Active certifications: Cisco (CCNP, CCIE preferred), Palo Alto (PCNSA, PCCSE, PCNSE preferred).
