- 07:00 PM – 07:00 AM
- 36 Hours per Week
- Every Other Weekend & Every Other Holiday Required
Job Summary
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced and skilled Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week contract opportunity in an acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care and ventilator management experience and be comfortable working in high-acuity clinical environments.
This role involves providing respiratory care services to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and treat acute and chronic cardiopulmonary dysfunction
- Initiate, monitor, and manage ventilatory support using lung protective strategies
- Perform ventilator troubleshooting and patient weaning
- Conduct ABG draws, sputum specimen collection, and bedside spirometry
- Interpret ABG results and monitor respiratory status
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, Heliox, and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Assist with bronchoscopies, intubations, and conscious sedation procedures
- Respond to Codes and Rapid Response Team (RRT) calls
- Manage artificial airways including tracheostomy and laryngectomy tubes
- Perform tracheal suctioning and assist with tracheostomy tube changes
- Administer and maintain non-invasive ventilation therapies
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and provide respiratory expertise
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation and charge reconciliation
- Support neonatal and pediatric respiratory therapy treatments
- Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and department supplies
- Assist with staff orientation, education, and training
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapy License required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required
- Current AHA BLS Certification required
- NRP Certification required
- Minimum 1 year of critical care respiratory therapy experience preferred
- Strong ventilator and airway management experience preferred
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
- English proficiency required (Read, Write, Speak)
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program required
Certifications & Licensure
- Massachusetts Respiratory Therapy License
- RRT or CRT Certification
- AHA BLS Certification
- NRP Certification
