Location: Andover, MA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM–4:30 PM (Onsite)
Pay: $23/hour
The Andover Companies is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Support Specialist to join its accounting team. This role supports a variety of accounting and administrative functions, including accounts payable processing, reconciliations, cash reporting, and customer service support. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
Responsibilities- Process incoming and returned mail.
- Prepare and distribute daily cash reports.
- Perform bank statement balancing and account reconciliations.
- Process accounts payable transactions, including commissions and vendor invoices.
- Verify invoice accuracy and prepare payments for mailing.
- Reissue checks as needed.
- Respond to phone and email inquiries from agents and insureds regarding commissions, payment status, and related questions.
- Maintain records in accordance with company retention policies.
- Complete daily assignments and assist with special projects as needed.
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, banking, accounts payable, or a related office environment.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with Tracker and/or Concur is a plus.
