Position Title: Social Worker (LCSW) – Emergency Department

Location: Hyannis, MA 02601

Job Type: Contract | 13 Weeks

Shift: Evening (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM or 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM) | 24 Hours/Week | Rotating Evenings, Every Other Weekend, Rotating Holidays

Pay Rate: $50 - $55/hour (Approx. $1,650 weekly)

Position Summary:

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Social Worker (LCSW) – Emergency Department for an exciting job in Hyannis, MA.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychosocial assessments for patients presenting with behavioral health, substance use, trauma, or social concerns.

• Deliver crisis intervention, emotional support, and short-term counseling to patients and families.

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care and discharge plans.

• Coordinate referrals to community resources, shelters, and social service agencies.

• Complete mandated reports (child/elder abuse, domestic violence) per state and federal requirements.

• Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and plans in the EMR.

• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Educate patients and families on coping strategies, available resources, and follow-up care.

• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, HIPAA, and professional practice standards.

Qualifications:

• Active Massachusetts LCSW or LICSW required.

• BLS Certification (AHA) required.

• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred.

• Minimum 1 year of recent hospital-based or Emergency Department social work experience preferred.

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.

• Strong knowledge of community resources, crisis intervention, and case management.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
