About the Role
Boston Medical Center – Brighton is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiac Surgery team in a fully outpatient-focused role. You will care for both preoperative and postoperative patients, support off‑site clinics 1–2 times per month, and work closely with a highly collaborative team of APPs, surgeons, and office staff.
This is an opportunity to practice at the top of your license and make a meaningful impact in a busy, high‑performing cardiac surgery program.
What You’ll Do
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including histories and physical exams.
- Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, and care plans.
- Document all clinical encounters in EPIC within required timeframes.
- Support patient flow and coordination of care, including admissions and specialty consults.
- Work collaboratively with APP colleagues, surgeons, and office staff in a fast‑paced environment.
- Participate in off-site outpatient clinics 1–2 times monthly.
What We’re Looking For
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with at least 2 years of Cardiac Surgery experience .
- Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program.
- Licensed (or license‑eligible) in Massachusetts.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to remain calm in urgent situations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Compensation Range:
$109,000.00- $158,000.00This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness. In addition, BMCHS offers generous total compensation that includes, but is not limited to, benefits (medical, dental, vision, pharmacy), discretionary annual bonuses and merit increases, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) savings matches, paid time off, career advancement opportunities, and resources to support employee and family well-being.
