This role in summary
Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for Continuous Improvement Leads (Hourly) .
This role will be based in Fall River, MA working with our Commercial Laundry manufacturing engineering team.
As Continuous Improvement Lead (Hourly) you will serve as a technical resource and project leader in the development and application of production systems across a variety of manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for the cost, quality, and safety improvements while maintaining daily operations to achieve division goals.
Hours: 8 AM - 4:30 PM
Salary 29.75 an hour
Your responsibilities will include
- Identify, analyze and solve manufacturing process issues and equipment related problems using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodology
- Initiate safety, cost, quality, and productivity improvements in the manufacturing operations
- Support, develop, and improve sheet metal forming and joining processes and related equipment in a high speed manufacturing environment
- Responsible for design, development, testing, and control of day to day, minor, and major projects involving tools, equipment, plant and manufacturing processes
- Provide technical support to technicians and work teams and serve as a technical resource for the department
- Provide technical support as required for product design, supplier quality and advanced product quality planning
- Determine root cause of problems and implement corrective & preventive actions utilizing methods from lean manufacturing and Six Sigma
- Analyze, evaluate and document standards according to quality system requirements such as SOPs, Control Plans, and FMEAs
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 1+ years Manufacturing experience
Preferred skills and experiences
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, world-class manufacturing, and OPEX ( 6 sigma ) tools and the ability to apply them in order to establish manufacturing processes
- Interpersonal skills, with the specific ability to act as a team leader and interact at all layers within the organization
- Mechanical knowledge
