Director, Catering, Cleaning & Waste

The Director of Catering Cleaning and waste will plan and manage the delivery of the Host Committee’s responsibilities for Catering, Cleaning and Waste for Boston 2026 for the FIFA World Cup 2026. The role will involve leading the strategy for Catering, Cleaning and Waste, coordination of the procurement process and development of tender documentation, and contract management of all delivery partners. In addition, the role includes being the lead on all operational planning, ensuring timelines, deliverables and legislations are adhered to for all Catering, Cleaning and Waste related elements for all locations during the FIFA World Cup 2026. This role requires a strong combination of project management, and hands-on leadership. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Catering, Concessions, Cleaning and Waste Management, ideally in large-scale events, urban planning, or related fields, and have a proven track record in coordinating with diverse stakeholders. Location:
Onsite in Foxborough, MA with frequent local travel and occasional regional travel.
Type/Term:Full-Time, exempt, 40hrs/ wk through late Summer - early Fall 2026 when position would end.

Salary Range:$125,000 - $145,000
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Manage, develop and coordinate of CCW services provision concept and align it with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Full accountability of legislative delivery-related elements.
- Ensure CCW infrastructure is clearly outlined and adequate provision for delivery within design plans and layouts at all venues.
- Manage the tender and procurement procedures to select CCW partners.
- Ensure the efficient level of functional and venue planning.
- Organize and manage recruitment and training of CCW personnel.
- Interact as the main contact with all the FIFA client groups and Boston City concerning the CCW services.
- Experience and understanding of Sustainability-related elements and impact on CCW operational delivery.
- Manage the budgeting process and control the CCW budget.
- Project budgeting, reporting, and post-tournament debriefing for the CCW Project.
- Prepare and develop of all required reports including Daily Reports from each Delivery Partner, Risks and Issue tracking, Workforce Meal consumption reports, Sales reconciliation and Waste.
- Ensure all operational plans are developed by Delivery Partners.
- Assist with further development of the CONOPS (CCW concept of operations) reviews and updates.
- Lead on the preparation and development of event time reporting documents and post-tournament reports CCW for each Delivery Partners; e.g Daily reports by venue, Issues and Risks Trackers, Workforce Meal Consumption Reports, Premium Ticketing reconciliation, Concession reconciliation, KPI monitoring reports and Waste Transfer Data.
- Ensuring that all Boston City and New England requirements for the delivery of the requirements are arranged and organized for CCW stakeholders across the assigned client group and delivery partners.
- Ensure adherence to all H&S regulations.
- Ensure all health and safety hazards are logged, reported and rectified in the client group’s areas.
- Oversee and ensure the Catering Delivery Partners' compliance to related Food Safety legislative requirements.
- Any other duties that are called on and are deemed reasonable within the capability of the role.
- Duties may change due to the fluidity of the role.
- A minimum of experience of 10 years in CCW services at international sports events
- Experienced in organizing and delivering CCW services for large sporting events /Tournaments
- Excellent stakeholder and client communication skills
- High-level understanding and experience of the procurement process, commercial modelling and negotiating skills
- Understanding and experience of alcohol licensing practices for high-volume F&B Operations
- Understanding of Food Safety requirements and regulations
- Experienced financial understanding and budget management
- High-level understanding of Premium Ticketing and financial modelling
- Expert in event project management processes
- Advanced IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to lead a team and contract manage numerous Delivery Partners
- Exceptional planning, organizational and administrative skills
- Positive attitude a plus with natural ability to be patient under pressure
- Strong facilitation, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility when faced with ambiguity or constant change
- Strong communication skills
- Full-time, onsite, 40hr per week role that may require occasional evening and weekend work. Local and regional travel is expected on occasion.
- This role is estimated to conclude in late Summer / early Fall of 2026.
The compensation range is competitive and commensurate with lived and professional experience, and includes access to:
