PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

Under little supervision, performs work to repair, alter, construct or remodel building facilities, using any of one or more skilled trades, such as carpentry, sheet metal work, plumbing, or other. Moves and reinstalls machinery and/or other equipment or furnishings, as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs a variety of building and grounds maintenance, repair and construction tasks using diverse trade skills, as required.
• Uses all necessary power tools, hand tools and any specialty equipment, as required.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area. Maintains all tools and equipment in an orderly and safe manner.
• Observes safety rules and safe work habits.
• Observes proper procedures to ensure quality work. Detects and reports any unusual or defective conditions. Cleans and oils machines as required.
• Follows specific safety and operating procedures.
• May train or instruct others how to perform this job.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3-5 years maintenance experience required. Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Possesses a high level of proficiency in any one or more trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, sheet metal work, etc.
• Knowledge of and adherence to safety procedures required.
• Knowledge of computer operation required.
