Mainframe Developer / Technical Lead

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer / Technical Lead with strong expertise in COBOL, DB2, JCL, SQL Stored Procedures, and CICS . The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, testing, deployment, and support of enterprise mainframe applications while coordinating with onsite and offshore teams.

This role requires strong debugging, performance optimization, and leadership skills with the ability to lead projects from onsite and drive delivery across multiple workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Support

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain mainframe applications.
• Develop and support applications using:
  • COBOL
  • DB2
  • JCL
  • SQL/Stored Procedures
  • CICS
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues.
• Support defect fixes during testing and production cycles.
• Ensure high standards for code quality, maintainability, and performance.

Database & Batch Processing

• Develop complex SQL queries and DB2 Stored Procedures.
• Support batch processing environments using JCL.
• Monitor and optimize system performance.
• Perform impact analysis and root cause investigations.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Execute unit testing and support system/integration testing.
• Work within Agile development methodologies.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce development standards.

Leadership & Coordination

• Lead technical projects from onsite.
• Coordinate effectively with offshore development teams.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to developers.
