Position Summary:
Position Overview: The Division of Management, Marketing, and Sport Management of the Girard School of Business seeks a full-time Lab Director beginning August/September 2025 (Fall 2025). Applicants must submit a current resume or CV and letter of interest. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and implement ongoing and sustainable programming for the current E-Lab (GSB) and the new IDEA Hub (SECS). The Director should develop a year-long program of events held in the E-Lab and IDEA Hub that will attract engagement from current students, alumni and local business partners.
Initiate a campus-wide “pitch” competition that will offer students the opportunity to receive mentoring and support over the course of the academic year culminating in final “pitch” that will be held in Spring 2026. The final pitch will become an annual competition judged by an alumni panel and award cash prizes to the student winners.
Arrange for at least one Tech Trek to local entrepreneurs each semester that will provide students with the opportunity to meet with local entrepreneurs at their place of business.
Serve as the Faculty Advisor to the two entrepreneurship-based student clubs – the Entrepreneurship Club (GSB) and Let’s Innovate (SECS). The Director will play a key role in integrating the clubs and building their visibility across campus.
Cultivate and develop business connections and partnerships in the field for the purpose of integrating innovative experiential learning opportunities into the curriculum. Specifically, this position is intended to support the growth of co-op programs in the area of entrepreneurship within the Girard School of Business. Specific duties in this area include:
Oversee the development of an 8-credit co-op course in support of the Warriors at Work Program
Work with Employer Engagement to develop and manage a minimum of 20 co-op positions for Warriors at Work students
Match students with co-op placements and mentor them during their placement
This is a full-time, on campus position to maximize the visibility of the Entrepreneurship Program. The Director is expected to be at the E-Lab or the IDEA Hub 5 days/week.
The Director will have a base teaching load of one course/4 credits per semester to ensure there is the opportunity to develop and engage current Entrepreneurship students. The Director will likely teach ENT3300 in Fall 2025 and the ENT 4000 (Entrepreneurship Cap) in Spring 2026. These courses parallel the other responsibilities for the pitch competition and developing internship opportunities.
The ideal candidate would have experience:
As an entrepreneur, both individually as well as being involved in start-ups
A technical background to provide mentorship to SECS students
Teaching one or more of the following - Introductory Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurial Finance, Small Business Management, Entrepreneurial Opportunities, Innovation and Future Trends
Conduct select service to the department, school, and College may also be responsibilities of the position including, but not limited to participation in Admissions events.
Qualifications:
Interested applicants should have relevant teaching experience, and either a suitable Master’s degree with substantive professional experience or hold a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship.
