Schedule

• Full-time (40 hours/week guaranteed)

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

• Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Position Summary

MiraVista Behavioral Health Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with inpatient psychiatric experience to work as a Float Psych RN on day shift. The RN will provide direct and indirect nursing care to adolescent psychiatric patients and may float to similar or lower acuity units as needed. Charge nurse responsibilities are required and included in the all-inclusive rate.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an inpatient psychiatric setting

• Maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu using trauma-informed care principles

• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning

• Develop, implement, and document individualized nursing care plans

• Administer medications and monitor patient responses

• Perform crisis intervention, de-escalation, and restraint reduction when necessary

• Serve as charge nurse when assigned (no differential)

• Float to similar or lower acuity units as required

• Accurately document care in the electronic medical record

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

• Crisis management and de-escalation skills

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN License

• Minimum 1 year of inpatient psychiatric nursing experience

• CPR Certification

• Willingness to float and assume charge nurse duties

• Availability to work every other weekend and holiday

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN

• Experience with adolescent psychiatric populations

• Restraint Reduction / Crisis Intervention training

• Behavioral Health or Substance Use inpatient experience
