KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive technical direction of cloud solutions aligned with cloud strategy
Compile, develop, and deliver architectural guardrails; influence stakeholders and ensure compliance with guardrails
Responsible to build services to effectively provision, install/ configure cloud infrastructure and lead infrastructure as code
Provide guidance on new tools and techniques to increase performance, automation, agility and scalability
Partner with delivery teams to help build CI/CD pipelines
Service management - enable teams logging, monitoring, alerting, auditing and reporting on service platforms
Partner with application teams to design and implement codified stacks that meet their needs
Research, analyse, recommend and select technical approaches for solving difficult and challenging development and integration problems
Operations management - Identity and access management (IAM) and asset management
Support cost management reporting - assist the tracking and reporting on the financial performance of cloud initiatives to ensure they are creating desired value. Advisory on project costing / budgeting
Provide up-to-date information on all GCP services, and advise on how to solve business use cases and support technology-led innovation
Partner with technology teams to apply security, and governance requirements and best practices are implemented in the cloud environment
Oversee establishment and maintenance of appropriate standards for cloud services and definition of processes and guidelines
ACADEMIC TRAINING:
University Degree in a related area preferred
SKILLS & EXPERTISE (must have):
5+ years experience in IT Infrastructure Operations with a min of 3 years of experience with public clouds (GCP, Azure, AWS, OCI)
Infrastructure as code expertise (ex. Terraform, GCloud)
Expertise with coding & scripting languages (ex. Python, Bash, Git, Bitbucket)
Experience with tooling to support monitoring, telemetry, logging, reporting/dashboarding, and continuous delivery technologies
Understanding of automation practices throughout the development, build, and deployment phases of the application lifecycle
System engineering in cloud-based architecture (including solution design and infrastructure core services)
Experience with Dev & SecOps and secure coding practices, including data security and privacy
SKILLS & EXPERTISE (nice to have):
GCP certification(s)
Information security certification(s)
Comprehensive understanding of key technological concepts such as IT architecture, Cloud technologies, applications, network infrastructure, and security is strongly preferred
Experience with incident management and on call support
Development/automation experience including installation, deployment and update of enterprise systems
Experience operating in agile environment using Jira (scrum/kanban/mvp)
Process definition and improvement expertise
Containerization experience (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes (GKE))
Serverless experience (Cloudrun, Pub/Sub)
Build orchestration (e.g. Cloud Build, Jenkins)
