Senior Trust Administrator (Permanent)
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid – 3 days in office / 2 days remote)
Salary: $110,000 – $165,000 + discretionary bonus
Overview
A well-established, mid-sized law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Trust Administrator to join its Private Client team. This role supports partner trustees and high-net-worth clients, handling complex fiduciary administration and serving as a key point of contact across a variety of trust and estate matters.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in trust administration, strong technical knowledge of fiduciary and tax matters, and the ability to manage sensitive client relationships with professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary liaison for trustees and clients across all aspects of fiduciary account administration
- Coordinate and communicate with external advisors, including investment managers, insurance professionals, banking partners, and tax advisors
- Review and interpret trust documents to ensure accurate and compliant administration
- Oversee daily management of trust relationships, including account setup, distributions, terminations, and ongoing account reviews
- Maintain accurate and detailed trust records, including oversight of special assets such as real estate and insurance holdings
- Monitor account activity to ensure compliance with governing documents, legal requirements, and firm standards
- Support the development and enhancement of internal processes, procedures, and best practices
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as directed by senior leadership
Qualifications & Experience
- 7+ years of fiduciary administration experience within a trust department, law firm, family office, or similar environment
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field (JD or advanced degree is a plus)
- Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation strongly preferred
- Experience with fiduciary income tax matters and/or estate administration is a plus
- Proficiency with fiduciary administration and tax software (e.g., SEI, OneSource or similar platforms)

- Strong understanding of trust and estate administration, fiduciary principles, and relevant tax considerations
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and interpret complex information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and external advisors
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information
