Help wanted: Regional STEM Workshop Instructors for Pre-K to 8th Grade Students
Recently retired from teaching or taking a break from the classroom and missing the joy of working with kids? Join Discovery Museum’s renowned team of instructors and bring Discovery Museum’s Traveling Science Workshops (TSW) to school classrooms as we expand operations both locally and to new regions!
Regionally-based instructors travel to schools throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island visiting with up to five classrooms of 25 students a day, two to five days each week for 3 to 8 hours each day. Instructors engage children in meaningful hands-on STEM explorations that enrich classroom learning and support current state curriculum on various physical science topics from Bubbles to Sound to Force and Motion.
Applicants must have experience teaching children in formal or informal settings and be friendly, dynamic, high-energy, and passionate about supporting children’s learning. They will be strong communicators who are highly organized and able to juggle multiple demands at one time. Instructors must be flexible and responsive to the needs of administrators, teachers, parent volunteers, and students. Background working with diverse constituencies and an ability to speak multiple languages strongly valued.
