Principal C++/Qt/Android Software Engineer
The Principal C++/Qt/Android Software Engineer position requires deep experience in C++ , the Qt platform and the Android operating system. The successful candidate will be an individual who enjoys learning new software technologies and working on the cutting edge of product development.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Take a key role in a fast-paced cross-functional team
· Collaborate directly with clients to understand requirements and make critical design decisions
· Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, code review, unit testing, integration, and verification
· Contribute closely with the cross-functional team to define interfaces, integrate software and hardware, and troubleshoot system-level issues
· Ensure all development activities adhere to regulatory requirements for software for medical devices (e.g., IEC 62304) and industry best practice
· Create and maintain detailed software documentation
· Execute with minimal guidance and provide technical oversight and guidance for other team members
· Mentor junior engineers and drive best practice in software development
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
·10+ years’ experience and expert proficiency in modern, production-level C++
·5+ years’ experience developing with the Qt platform and Android OS
· Experience using Qt JNI interfaces to call native Android APIs
· Experience managing Play Store deployment, including signing and security and Enterprise deployment (MDM)
· Experience developing responsive UI layouts in QML
· Strong experience with modern SDLC processes (unit testing, static analysis, CI/CD)
· Strong familiarity with modern software development tools for CI/CD (e.g., Github Actions, Jenkins, CMake, Docker, etc.)
· Experience using Agile techniques, including task / issue management
· Demonstrated commitment to high quality
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Highly motivated, self-disciplined, independent and results oriented
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline preferred, or equivalent years of experience
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
· Experience developing software for medical devices and familiarity with medical device standards (e.g., IEC 62304)
· Experience developing and deploying software for iOS
· Experience analyzing software for failure modes and developing solutions to mitigate risks.
· Proficiency in other programming languages such as C#, Python, or JavaScript
The base salary for this position is $150,000 to $205,000 annually, and the role is bonus eligible.
