Patient Navigator
Summary
Simbioza is building a hybrid health assistant that combines AI-powered responses with human compassion. We help users navigate care confidently through both automated and human-guided support. We’re hiring a certified and experienced Patient Navigator to support users via chat and phone, offering clear explanations, guidance, and care coordination.
This role is fully remote and modeled after traditional hospital-based patient navigation, adapted for a digital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a human support layer on top of our AI assistant: clarifying information, guiding decisions, and helping users take action
Conduct virtual support sessions with users via chat and phone
Build rapport, offer motivation, and guide users toward achievable healthcare goals
Educate users on how to navigate referrals, insurance processes, provider selection, and care follow-up
Support users with non-clinical concerns (billing questions, administrative coordination, etc.)
Help users understand their benefits and rights
Flag critical issues to internal leads based on established escalation protocols
Work closely with internal operations to troubleshoot care navigation barriers
Provide real-time feedback to improve Simbioza’s AI and user experience
Required Qualifications
Certification required :
Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA), OR
Community Health Worker (CHW), OR
Patient Navigator Certificate from an accredited program
Minimum 2 years of experience in a patient-facing role such as:
Patient Advocate or Navigator
Medical Assistant, Health Coach, or Case Manager
Care Coordinator (hospital, insurance, or digital health setting)
Native U.S. English speaker with excellent written and verbal communication
Proficient in using remote communication platforms and documentation tools
Deep understanding of U.S. healthcare workflows (insurance, primary/specialty care, referrals)
Able to work independently in a fully remote setting
Emotionally intelligent, empathetic, and solution-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Admin, Nursing, Social Work, or related field
Experience supporting patients in remote or telehealth environments
Familiarity with HIPAA-compliant documentation and communication
Work Environment & Requirements
Fully remote role based in the U.S.
Stable, high-speed internet and secure home workspace required
Simbioza provides necessary equipment: computer, monitor, headset
