Cambridge Camping Association

Cambridge Camping Association Program Coordinator

Since 1893, Cambridge Camping has expanded access to out-of-school and summer programming for children and youth from under-resourced circumstances. Rooted in the “magic of camp”—community, mentorship, and belonging—we’ve made it possible for over 25,000 children to participate in life-changing summer and school-year enrichment experiences.

Our Current Programs

  • CCAccess (Camperships & Referrals): Tuition assistance and personalized referrals to high-quality summer camps, plus wrap-around supports such as transportation, supplies, and help navigating applications and paperwork.
  • CCBound (Vacation Overnight Camps): Three one-week overnight camp experiences (February, April, August) that introduce first-time overnight campers to “country camp” life and build a pipeline to longer camp placements.
  • Village Building Series – Family Camp: School-year workshops, events, and celebrations that build community, support camp readiness, and provide enrichment for camper families.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator oversees all hands-on and referral programs, ensuring high-quality, safe, and mission-aligned programming that leads to strong outcomes for campers and families. This role manages program development and delivery, partnerships, recruitment, communications, and evaluation for CCAccess, CCBound, and the Village Building Series.

The Program Coordinator will:

  • Work on-site at our Cambridge office five days a week.
  • Travel and be on-site at partner residential camps for three one-week CCBound sessions (February, April, August).
  • Work some evenings, weekends, and school vacations, with flex time during the week.

This is a full-time, exempt position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead annual planning and implementation for all CCA programs, aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Recruit, register, enroll, and retain campers and families; ensure camper and family readiness for all programs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely program records and database entries, including family/camp info and basic billing data.
  • Serve as CCA’s on-site liaison during three one-week CCBound sessions; support partner camp staff in delivering quality programs.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with referral partners, residential camps, and community organizations.
  • Represent CCA at community events and network meetings to promote programs and build partnerships.
  • Coordinate with DCF offices statewide, including required reporting (June–September).
  • Develop and share simple marketing materials and basic follow-up assessment tools.
  • Track and assess program quality and outcomes; participate in annual review and improvement efforts.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience working in youth programs serving children/youth from under-resourced circumstances.
  • Experience developing and implementing youth programs (school-year, summer, or camp).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; comfort learning and using databases/CRMs.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across nonprofit, public, and community settings.
  • Excellent communication skills (in-person, phone, and written).
  • Enjoyment of working with children and comfort supporting youth impacted by trauma, disability, and social/emotional/behavioral needs.

Preferred

  • Relevant master’s degree.
  • Experience with residential or seasonal camp programs.
  • Experience working with youth and families impacted by trauma.
  • Familiarity with Canva, Constant Contact, and additional CRM platforms.
  • 5+ years of nonprofit experience.
  • Current or prior certification in basic first aid, CPR, and/or youth mental health.
  • Interest in social media and using technology to support outreach and engagement.

Compensation & Requirements

  • Anticipated salary range: $52,000–$65,000, with final offer based on experience, skills, education and knowledge of the non-profit camp landscape (full-time, exempt)
  • Must successfully complete CORI and SORI background checks
