We are looking for a skilled Medical Collections Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Sudbury, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for managing patient accounts, facilitating payment collections, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate has strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in medical billing software.
Responsibilities:
• Manage patient accounts by addressing billing inquiries, arranging payment plans, and communicating financial responsibilities.
• Collect payments efficiently while adhering to healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
• Analyze billing details to identify discrepancies and investigate claim denials.
• Negotiate payment terms with patients, insurance companies, and other parties to resolve outstanding balances.
• Utilize healthcare billing software for electronic claim submissions and account management.
• Reconcile accounts to ensure accurate balances and resolve any inconsistencies.
• Provide precise and effective communication with clients, insurers, and internal teams to address billing disputes and inquiries.
• Maintain compliance with healthcare laws and internal guidelines throughout the collections process.
• Post payments accurately and ensure timely account updates
• Proven experience in medical collections, with a strong background in billing and payment reconciliation.• Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic claim processes.
• Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and research denials effectively.
• Strong communication skills to liaise professionally with patients, insurance companies, and internal teams.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards related to billing and collections.
• Expertise in negotiating payment terms and resolving disputes.
• Customer service skills to address billing inquiries and ensure client satisfaction.
• Experience with medical insurance, denials, and appeals processes.
