Job Description
This role focuses on commercial plumbing installation for new construction projects, including multi-family and mixed-use buildings in locations such as Roslindale and Cambridge. You will install and run various piping systems, work closely with a Plumbing Foreman, and contribute to high-quality plumbing installations on large-scale commercial projects. The position follows a consistent daytime schedule, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Install and run commercial plumbing systems, including cast iron, PVC, venting systems, and other piping components in new construction environments.
- Read and interpret directions and plans provided by the Plumbing Foreman and project leadership to complete installations accurately and efficiently.
- Perform commercial plumbing installation work on multi-family and mixed-use buildings, ensuring all work meets relevant codes and standards.
- Collaborate with other trades and team members on site to coordinate plumbing installations with overall construction timelines.
- Use appropriate tools and equipment to cut, fit, assemble, and secure pipes and fixtures according to specifications.
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA 10 guidelines while working on active construction sites.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues as they arise, escalating complex problems to the Plumbing Foreman when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring materials and tools are stored safely and properly.
- Arrive on time and work a consistent schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Operate with professionalism and respect toward coworkers, supervisors, and other site personnel to support a strong team culture.
Essential Skills
- Massachusetts Journeyman Plumbing License or active Massachusetts Plumbing Apprenticeship status (3rd or 4th year).
- Proven experience in commercial plumbing installation, particularly in new construction environments.
- Hands-on experience installing and running cast iron piping systems.
- Hands-on experience installing and running PVC piping systems.
- Demonstrated ability to install venting systems and related plumbing components.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Ability to follow directions from a Plumbing Foreman and work effectively as part of a commercial construction team.
- Reliable transportation to travel to project sites such as Roslindale and Cambridge.
- Strong understanding of plumbing installation practices, including piping, pipefitting, and fixture installation.
- Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working on multi-family or mixed-use commercial projects.
- Prior exposure to large-scale new construction projects, such as multi-story residential or office buildings.
- Strong project-based experience, demonstrating the ability to handle complex installations and varied site conditions.
- Solid communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, coworkers, and other trades on site.
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and adherence to building codes and company standards.

Work Environment
You will work in commercial new construction settings, primarily on mixed-use office buildings and multi-family residential projects. The first assignment involves a five-story, 31-unit building in Roslindale, with approximately 10% mixed-use space and 90% commercial multi-family units. The next major project is a 100-unit new build in Cambridge. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing a predictable daytime schedule. The environment is an active construction site that requires adherence to OSHA 10 safety practices, coordination with multiple trades, and consistent use of standard plumbing tools and equipment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
