Opportunity

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our Woburn office. As a member of our team, you are responsible for coordinating all project aspects including: cost, production, schedule and installation. An APM needs to be focused, organized and excel at bringing a high level of customer service to each job. The Assistant Project Manager is vital in helping to produce a quality project that includes on time installation and maintains or improves profit in order to uphold our vision of quality, value and service.

Role

The APM is responsible for coordinating, organizing and communicating all aspects of a project including: submittals, schedule, contracts, cost, production, changes, installation and closeout. You will assist with schedules, additional work proposals, field dimensions, punch lists, installations and the growing project needs in New England. Daily tasks include monitoring progress of current projects, checking material orders, creating and monitoring project schedules, jobsite organization and project information. This is a full-time, salary position with standard hours 8am 5pm reporting to the New England Director of Project Operations. Hours may vary and are dependent on workload and scheduling.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate select company projects
  • Clarify scope of work with the customer at the beginning of each project
  • Oversee engineering and purchasing to ensure drawings, material and schedules are correct
  • Check and confirm shop drawings, order acknowledgements and product data submittals.
  • Coordinate manpower schedule for projects
  • Proactive communication with field operations for schedule of installers or sub installation
  • Manage profitability by coordinating with purchasing department for buyout options
  • Attend project turnover meetings to ensure project information, scope and communication is accurate, timely and responsibilities are clearly defined
  • Check and confirm shop drawings, order acknowledgements and product data submittals.
  • Support engineering and purchasing to ensure drawings, material and schedule are correct
  • Work with accounting and estimating to ensure estimating values are correct
  • Communicate with project team members to maintain current contract status for all projects
  • Review purchase and delivery schedule in order to complete projects on time
  • Maintain job completion system (open items list) for 0 punch list items to eliminate return trips
  • Assist PMs with field dimensions, site surveys, punch lists and other field related requirements as necessary
  • Track job notes and correspondence
  • Complete request for information (RFIs) and additional work proposals (AWPs)

Skills & Competencies

  • 3+ years experience in construction - admin/organization, labor, managing or related field
  • 4 year college degree preferred, HS degree required
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, email, internet and basic office infrastructure (printing/scanning)
  • Ability to understand spatial relationships/design
  • Able to coordinate information and schedules
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. using proper lifting techniques
  • Safe, clean driving record (Employment contingent on clean Background Check).
  • Well organized and able to appropriately prioritize tasks
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Professional communication and excellent customer service
  • Estimating experience a plus
  • Finance/Accounting experience a plus
  • Experience using Timberline a plus

This position requires some travel, up to 50% of the time within the New England Area and requires use of both your own vehicle and company vehicles. The position also requires ability to bend and take measurements, lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. At times, prolonged stationary desk work is required using substantial motions of the wrist and hand.
