Job SummaryAs a Solder Assembler III, you will assemble, solder, and test advanced electronic components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company specifications. This role requires expertise in soldering techniques, the ability to interpret schematics, and precision in working with fine-pitch components to deliver high-quality and reliable products.
Key Responsibilities 1. Soldering and Assembly- Perform advanced soldering, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and through-hole soldering.
- Assemble and solder electronic components onto Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) using microscopes and precision tools.
- Work with microelectronic devices and fine-pitch components.
- Adhere to IPC-A-610 standards or other applicable quality benchmarks.
- Inspect assembled components for quality and compliance using magnification tools and visual inspection methods.
- Conduct functional testing of assemblies and troubleshoot defects or issues.
- Perform rework and repairs on defective assemblies as required.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions accurately.
- Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, including deviations.
- Provide feedback to engineers or supervisors to improve processes and resolve issues.
- Maintain and calibrate soldering tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Share expertise and provide guidance to team members.
- Train junior assemblers in advanced soldering techniques and processes.
- Contribute to refining assembly workflows for greater efficiency and quality.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in soldering and electronic assembly, with expertise in SMT and through-hole techniques.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 is highly preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in soldering fine-pitch components and using precision tools.
- Strong understanding of schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
- Knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection and handling.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for long periods, use microscopes for detailed tasks, and handle small components with precision.
