Business Overview:

Alder Foods is a leader in national and international military sales to the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), a $4.5 billion agency. We sell nationally branded food to over 200 commissary stores worldwide. With over 50 years of business experience, we offer sales, marketing, and distribution services on behalf of our CPG supplier partners. Our experience covers Frozen, Chill and Dry Food and Beverage Categories within the military channel.

General Job Description:

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the ordering and inventory management of all products/brands purchased from suppliers and distributed to the Military Commissaries (via Military Distributors). This position will interface with the Retail & Marketing Teams as well as senior leaders to ensure the distributors/commissaries are ordering sufficient inventories to meet consumer demands.

Experience:

• Previous experience in logistics or distribution is often preferred, particularly in a CPG or government setting.
• Experience with supply chain management systems and processes

Skills:

• Organizational skills to manage and coordinate large volumes of vendor partners and products
• Communication skills to liaise with suppliers, coworkers, and other stakeholders.
• Problem-solving skills for managing and troubleshooting supply chain issues
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in tracking, distribution, and documentation.
• Project management skills to oversee and optimize distribution systems.

Technical Skills:

• Familiarity with logistics software and inventory management systems.
• Understanding of military logistics codes and classifications (such as NSN National Stock Number).
• Proficiency with data entry and spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).

Additional Qualities:

• Strong leadership and teamwork abilities, as you will be working with other coordinators, supply teams, and industry customers
• Ability to adapt quickly to changes in operations

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
