Accounts Receivable Operations Specialist

Join a dynamic finance team at a prestigious institution! This is a high-impact role in Accounts Receivable operations, with the potential to transition to a permanent role. You'll work independently with confidential financial data and contribute directly to the daily reconciliation of $60M in payments.

Contract Details:

• 6-month contract (potential for permanent hire)
• Pay Rate: $25.00/hour
• Work Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (In-office); 2 days in-office during summer months

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and reconcile cashiering and deposits totaling approximately $60M daily
• Manage incoming checks and wire payments from multiple sources, including LockBox, 529 plans, private loans, and scholarships
• Perform detailed payment research and resolve discrepancies, including contacting departments as necessary
• Open, sort, and handle incoming mail related to payment processing
• Prepare reconciliations and reporting for internal audit and review

Required Experience:

• 2–3 years in Accounts Receivable or a closely related role
• Experience working independently and handling confidential financial data

Nice-to-Have Experience:

• Prior experience in a university or academic institution's finance or cashiering department
• Exposure to high-volume transaction environments

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Banner or similar ERP systems
• Knowledge of reconciliation and payment processing best practices
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for reconciliation tasks
