Medical Scheduling Lead

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical Scheduling Lead to join our team. You will be trained at the front desk to manage phone calls, appointment scheduling, clinical messaging, and both check-in and check-out procedures. Your role will include reviewing provider schedules to efficiently plan patient care and communicating any schedule changes with providers.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly upon arrival and create a welcoming environment.
• Check patients in and out following clinic protocols.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance, and eligibility at each visit.
• Collect co-pays, balances, and required forms or documentation.
• Provide patients with instructions, directions, and general clinic information.
• Manage the reception area to ensure cleanliness, organization, and patient comfort.
• Handle walk-in patients, same-day requests, and urgent concerns in collaboration with clinical staff.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments for multiple providers and services.
• Verify appointment reasons and assign patients to the appropriate provider or service.
• Maintain and adjust provider schedules, templates, and availability.
• Send reminders, follow-up communications, and outreach for missed appointments.
• Monitor schedule accuracy, waitlists, cancellations, and same-day openings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience working in a medical office.
• Experience interacting with patients.
• Experience coordinating schedules and answering phones.

This is a Contract position based out of Boston, MA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
