Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position in Worcester, MA, requiring a MA RN license and proficiency with Epic EMR.

Details

• Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) in an acute care hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• Floating required to other adult ICUs as needed
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated; scheduling is based on unit needs
• Epic EMR used; prior experience preferred
• Contract lengths of 13, 20, or 26 weeks are available

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required; conditional MA license accepted if actively working toward permanent licensure
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience highly preferred; candidates with less experience will still be considered
• Must be able to work any day of the week; no special scheduling accommodations can be made
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or above
• Clinical skills required include: IV therapy, arterial line and central line management, PICC line management, blood product administration, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), ABG interpretation, endotracheal and nasotracheal suctioning, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, continuous IV sedation and paralytic management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG/ECG, IV insulin protocols, and care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 200 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; local candidates within 200 miles are accepted at the same bill rate

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates with prior permanent employment within the health system must have a 12-month separation before being considered
• A pass/fail EKG test and a pass/fail Medication exam are required during orientation; the passing score for the EKG test is 80%, and only one attempt is allowed — failure will result in assignment cancellation
• Orientation includes pre-start modules (1–2 hours) and additional modules completed during orientation and annually; modules are tracked in Workday
• This is a union facility; no special scheduling accommodations will be made for any reason
• Candidates must be available to work all 7 days of the week
• RTO requests up to 14 days may be submitted for review; no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Desired RTO length is 3–5 days
