Construction Layout Survey Chief - Leica Robotics & As‑Builts
Your day, reimagined
You arrive on site and take point as the survey chief and field engineer. Control is verified, the Leica robotic total station is set, and you get to work laying out critical points for crews. With levels, line lasers, and hand measuring tools, you capture field measurements, confirm alignments, and troubleshoot discrepancies before they become issues.
As steel rises, you validate elevations and positions, then translate your findings into clear, accurate as-built sketches and drawings that feed the design and fabrication process. You operate efficiently with Carlson Software and data collectors and are comfortable recording measurements in AutoCAD or on paper in the field.
What you'll handle
- Lead construction layout and as-built verification as the on-site survey chief/field engineer
- Operate a Leica robotic total station with confidence and precision
- Use levels, line lasers, and hand tools to obtain reliable measurements
- Produce accurate as-built style drawings/sketches for use in the design process
- Support heavy construction projects, with a preference for steel construction experience
- Leverage Carlson Software and data collectors for efficient field workflows
- Capture field measurements for documentation in AutoCAD or on paper
- Bonus: Utilize a Leica BLK360 3D scanner to enhance reality-capture workflows
Schedule & compensation
- Hours: Monday through Friday – first shift
- Compensation: Up to $90K a year based on experience
