Chapter 74 Department Head at Quincy High School

Coordinator of Career and Technical Education for Quincy Public Schools for all program philosophy, content, polices and regulations.Responsible to the Principal at Quincy High school for building mission and goals, coordination, and communication, and serves as representative on QHS Principals Council.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1.Provides leadership; assists teachers with problems; acts as a resource person.2.Works in collaboration with the Coordinator of Career and Technical Education with regard to the content, policies, regulations, and requirements of all Chapter 74 programs at Quincy High School.3.Assists and guides faculty members and coordinates their activities.4.Evaluates and supervises all CTE teachers as assigned using the Clinical Supervision model.5.Assists with the implementation of student Schedules, CTE Competencies, Six Year Plans, CTE Post Graduate Survey, Senior Survey, etc.6.Deals with student disciplinary and attendance matters.7.Coordinates CTE General Advisory Teams and CTE Program Advisory Team Meetings and Activities.8.Assists in the screening, hiring, and assigning of instructors; makes personnel recommendations as appropriate.9.Maintains vocational/technical program productivity.10.Processes all requests for projects or work from assigned areas.11.Plans and/or conducts in-service Professional Development/Training Activities.12.Processes requests for supplies, equipment, repairs and books; maintains inventories and develops budget recommendations.13.Supervises the development and revision of the technical and related curriculum (CTE Frameworks).14.Provides leadership in the integration of technical and academic instruction (CTE Frameworks).15.Produces reports relative to the vocational/technical programs as needed.16.Facilitates and chairs various CTE Teams, including CTE, Safety Team, Admissions, and Program Advisory Teams.17.Develops connections with community business partners and maintains a range of work-based experiences (employment opportunities, internships, co-op placements, mentorships, etc.) and assures all students have such experiences.18.Develops and maintains connections with area colleges, including articulation agreements, CTE Pathways, and Dual Enrollment programs.19.Coordinates the safety of CTE programs in the assigned areas of supervision.20.Assists in arranging for the assignment of substitutes as needed.21.Confers with and maintains relationships with resources, agencies, or facilities concerned in the educational programs.22.Guides and advises faculty and advisory team members to establish policies relating to recruitment, selection, and instruction of students.23.Serves as the Chapter 74 representative on QHS Principals Council.24.Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools, Coordinator of Career and Technical Education, and Quincy High School Principal.
