Sr. Application Engineer (Reading)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of complex and custom assembly projects from concept through production.
- Develop advanced system layouts and designs that meet customer requirements and manufacturing constraints.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production teams to ensure project alignment.
- Identify and resolve technical, manufacturability, and supply chain challenges proactively.
- Review and approve drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Drive improvements in design efficiency, standardization, and documentation quality.
- Mentor and support the development of Associate and Application Engineers.
- Manage relationships with external vendors for specialized or non‑standard components.
- Support customer interactions as needed to clarify technical requirements and ensure solution alignment.
Experience Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field required.
Experience:
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in application engineering, design, or manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience leading complex projects or major project components.
- Experience with fluid distribution or analytical instrumentation systems preferred.
Skill Requirements
- Advanced proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Strong understanding of fluid systems, instrumentation, and assembly processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage competing priorities, and deliver results.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to work through ambiguity and non‑routine challenges.
- Ability to influence cross‑functional teams and drive alignment across stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of cost, lead time, and operational impact.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently within established guidelines and escalate higher‑risk issues when needed.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
