Job Title: Low Voltage Project Technician

Employment type: Contract

Territory: Boston, MA

Hours: 8 am - 5 pm

Overview:

We are seeking skilled and motivated Low Voltage Project Technicians to support technology installations at retail and commercial locations nationwide. This role involves working on new construction and renovation projects, installing systems such as POS, audio/visual, security, wireless access, and telecommunications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and troubleshoot low voltage systems including POS, AV, security cameras, and network cabling
• Perform break/fix tasks as needed
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine wiring routes and installation plans
• Collaborate with on-site teams and customers to ensure project accuracy and satisfaction
• Work under the guidance of a lead technician during initial training period
• Maintain clear communication with Project Managers and site contacts

Required Skills:

• Experience with low voltage wiring and break/fix work
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Familiarity with POS systems
• Strong customer service and communication skills

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

• Certifications such as CCNA, Network+, A+, or BICSI
• Experience in retail or commercial technology installations

Additional Information:

• Technicians will receive their schedules several weeks in advance via a scheduling app (currently Android-only; iOS support coming soon). Android devices will be provided if needed.
• Work hours may vary and include early mornings, overnights, and weekends. Flexibility is essential.
• Mileage reimbursement at $0.60/mile for travel to and from job sites, including home-to-site and site-to-home.
• Projects typically involve working in teams of 2–4 at fast food restaurants, big box stores, and other commercial locations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
