We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This position is ideal for an organized individual who can work independently take on increasing responsibilities within the group. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.

The Staff Accountant (GL) will work a hybrid schedule from our Worcester, MA office.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers across several divisions & different agency management systems
  • Reconciliations for multiple cash accounts for different bank accounts
  • Assisting in monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statement preparation
  • Help with documenting accounting processes and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 1-2 years of experience in public accounting highly desirable
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. Discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded. Jencap also offers a range of benefits and programs, based on eligibility, which currently include but are not limited to; comprehensive health care coverage, a 401k plan, and tuition reimbursement.
