We are looking for a collaborative Entry Level Systems Engineer to join our New England Systems and Technology Group of about 20 systems engineers, designers and industry specialists with a wide variety of talent and experience. As our newest team member, you’ll play a key role in the development of design plans, specifications and estimates for intelligent transportation systems, security systems, and communications systems along with other systems engineering work tasks. Joining our team, you’ll have the chance to apply your experience to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects and utilize your systems expertise to create innovative solutions.

Our team of multi-disciplinary experts is seeking a motivated candidate who will utilize their design knowledge to dream big ideas on various and complex intelligent transportation systems, security systems, and communication system projects. We’d rely on your collaboration skills to coordinate interdisciplinary work as well as encourage to bring your fresh ideas to work every day.
You’ll work with a knowledgeable and supportive team as you design these systems and assist in construction support and commissioning activities. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of any of the following: information display systems, security systems and components, public address systems, communication systems and networks, variable message signs, roadway lane use signs, traffic cameras, traffic data sensors, roadway weather information sensors, Operational Technology networks including Programmable Logic Controllers, servers/workstations, local/wide area networks.

Your Role:
- Work with Systems team and other disciplines on designing ITS, Security and Communications systems for public and private clients
- Provide design packages that include plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Provide calculations to support designs
- Support the implementation of these systems by providing field inspections, reviewing submittals, and responding to requests for information
- Support the commissioning and testing of these systems
- Research technologies to provide solutions to clients
- Attend team and client meetings
- Attend client site visits throughout New England and nationally

Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Civil engineering or related field from an accredited program, university, or college.
- 1 year of experience in the design and commissioning of intelligent transportation systems, security systems and/or communication networks
- Working knowledge of intelligent transportation systems, security systems, and/or communication networks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver’s license and ability to transport self to sites on short notice
- Local to greater Boston MA, or willing to relocate to the area
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Civil engineering or related field from an accredited program, university, or college.
- Experience with:
- Traffic control devices such as electronic variable message boards, wrong way driver detection
- Surveillance technology and video management platforms
- Electronic Access Control hardware
- Communications networks including wi-fi, cellular, 5G, and fiber optics
- AutoCAD, Revit, and/or MicroStation
Posted Salary Range: Minimum
66,900.00
Posted Salary Range: Upper
85,000.00

Jacobs has an unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) policy for full-time salaried/exempt employees, seven paid holidays, and caregiver leave. And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.
The base salary range for this position is $66,900.00 to $85,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
