Energy Monitoring Systems Technician

Job Description Position Purpose: Under general supervision from the Metering Supervisor or other assigned supervisor, the Energy Monitoring Systems Technician will perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical metering data collection systems. Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Respond to service orders concerning customers, including equipment change-outs, device commissioning, and system troubleshooting.
- Use specific software to commission/program electronic/thermal/water meters, and remote data collection hardware, and complete all relevant paperwork associated with the assignment.
- Coordinate electrician presence onsite and execute project micro-management upon completion-follow up on any new opportunities.
- Communicate with customers, contractors, and co-workers, and respond to inquiries in a timely fashion.
- Perform other duties as required including occasional drawing reviews/updates, tenant surveys, and occasional meter reading.
- Partake in department workflow, stay aware of ongoing projects, and assist when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- An associate's or Bachelor's Degree in electronics, computer technician, or instrumentation is strongly preferred.
- At least two years of related field work experience or any equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge of programming, testing, troubleshooting, and calibration of electronic and mechanical meters.
- Strong PC skills as well as demonstrated skills in reading sub-meter drawings, diagrams, and wiring layouts.
- Proven proficiency in Visio and AutoCAD.
- Ability to work collaboratively with customers and vendors, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Reliable team player.
- An organized self-starter, able to follow standard procedures, prioritize assignments, and address problems as they arise or seek appropriate help.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Valid state-issued driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
- The employee will need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
