Job Description
This internship will strengthen US Medical Affairs Oncology (USMAO) capabilities in scientific communication, field leadership, and HCP engagement. A key focus will be evaluating the current organizational design and exploring alternative approaches to enhance efficiency and impact—leveraging both existing and potential resources.
As a USMAO Medical Excellence Intern, you will analyze organizational structures, identify opportunities for improvement, and support initiatives that build field and office-based capabilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, incorporate stakeholder perspectives, and help define frameworks that measure the value of Medical Affairs.
How You Will Contribute
As a USMAO Medical Excellence Intern, you will have the opportunity to:
Organizational Insight – Evaluate USMAO’s structure, workflows, and resource allocation; propose alternatives for improved efficiency.
Comparative Analysis – Assess alternative organizational models under different resource scenarios.
Competency Alignment – Identify skill gaps against the Field Competency Model and prioritize development needs.
Capability Building – Support creation of training resources, playbooks, and frameworks to address gaps.
Tool Optimization – Evaluate adoption of USMAO tools and recommend improvements for consistency and usability.
Stakeholder Integration – Incorporate HCP feedback into training and development planning.
Impact Measurement – Contribute to defining metrics that demonstrate USMAO value and effectiveness.

Job Requirements
This position will be hybrid role out of the Cambridge, MA location.
Currently pursuing a graduate degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, MPH, MBA, or related field).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize complex information.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Interest in organizational strategy, medical affairs, or healthcare operations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
Internship Eligibility
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later
The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates ( May 26 th -August 14 th or June 15 th - August 21 st )
The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

Boston, MAU.S. Hourly Wage Range:
$21 .00 - $46 .00
The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year /level to be entered following completion of internship . The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location .
U.S. internship benefits vary by locati on and may include:

Commuter Benefit: To offset your work-commute expenses, Takeda provides U.S. employees with a fixed monthly subsidy to be used for either public transportation (transit) or parking.
