Business Development Manager-Licensing
This is a high-impact opportunity for a doctoral-level scientist to pivot from the laboratory bench to a strategic commercial role within a fast-growing and globally recognized Contract Research Organization (CRO). The position leverages deep expertise in mouse modeling and gene engineering to forge technical partnerships that accelerate drug discovery and preclinical development. education: Doctorate responsibilities:
- Execute targeted outreach and lead generation strategies to identify and secure new business opportunities within the assigned territory, ensuring the achievement of corporate revenue milestones.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in gene targeting principles and preclinical pharmacology, effectively communicating technical value propositions to prospective biopharmaceutical partners.
- Manage the full business development lifecycle, from initial cold outreach and "networking lunches" to complex contract negotiations and final execution.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences and trade shows, providing critical feedback to leadership regarding competitive landscapes, emerging prospect needs, and product development opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing and technical teams to enhance brand visibility and ensure the organization remains the partner of choice for innovative therapeutic discovery.
qualifications:
Required:
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Pharmacology, Biology, or a closely related bioscience field.
- Significant, hands-on "wet lab" experience specifically involving mouse models and practical scientific research.
- A documented publication list demonstrating scientific rigor and contribution to the field.
- A primary interest in transitioning from bench research to a high-activity business development environment, including a willingness to engage in direct outreach (calls/emails) and networking.
- Ability to travel locally to visit clients and attend regional industry events.
- Fluency in Mandarin is considered a significant asset for internal and external collaboration.
- Preference is given to candidates with direct academia-to-industry transition profiles rather than those with extensive prior management or lab setup backgrounds.
