- Investigate accidents, incidents, disputes and disturbances as assigned, in accordance with policy, and in conjunction with involved authority.
- Monitor and coach operator performance and behavior, model passenger interaction skills, coach operators in use of time, checks and instructs periodically on proper revenue and farebox data collection, and recommend training or retraining, as appropriate to ensure compliance with safety policies.
- Conduct time point and passenger load checks to ensure schedule and route efficiency.
- Audit and reschedule service, routes and road conditions and recommend alternate routes to Dispatch or suggest service improvements to managers, as appropriate. Recommend adjustments to running time or additions/deletions to schedules and routes to ensure quality service.
- Prepare reports regarding service disruptions, security incidents and operator performance/behavior in accordance with policies and procedures. May assist operators in filing reports.
- Assist in processing customer service complaints and requests.
- Coordinate problem resolution among operators, management, passengers and the public; comply with ADA regulations;
- Performs physical work as needed, such as standing, assisting stuck/sidetracked buses, making bus trades and helping mobility aid passengers on or off buses, transporting mobility aid passengers as needed, etc.
- Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators; act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services.
- Assist with payroll on a daily basis for a staff of 80 to 90 employees. Complete daily schedules and processing time off requests.
- Handle all training for new hires as required
- Provides daily dispatching duties as needed.
- Ensure all electronic files are up-to-date and accurate. (Log books, pass sales, etc...)
