The Role As a Quality Inspector III, you are a senior technical lead responsible for maintaining the highest standards of manufacturing excellence. You will support site operations through the development and evaluation of quality processes, ensuring all products exceed customer expectations through advanced inspection and team mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Inspection: Use calipers, micrometers, surface plates, and height gages; expertly read and interpret complex blueprints.

• Metrology Operations: Efficiently operate FARO & Micro-Vu measurement equipment.

• Quality Documentation: Lead PPAP and 1st Article documentation development; create internal Control Plans.

• Team Leadership: Mentor and train Level I and II inspectors; lead lean process and project improvements.

• Auditing & Calibration: Participate in internal process audits and assist with equipment calibration per ISO Standards.

• Problem Solving: Partner with manufacturing personnel to resolve vendor issues, customer complaints, and internal process failures.

• Release & Approval: Inspect and approve incoming materials and release final products by verifying all required certifications.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years in a metal fabrication environment under a continuous improvement QMS.

• Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of manual measuring devices, blueprint reading, and shop math (ratios, decimals, percentages).

• Education: High school diploma required; Associate degree in a related field preferred.

• Physical: Ability to stand for long periods, lift 25 lbs, and maintain high-focus vision for precision verification.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Use measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, steel rulers, pin gages, surface plate, and height gage
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Visual inspection of product according to customer requirements
• Inspect and or test in-process product as well as finished product
• Document inspection results by completing required reports/logs
• Identify and quarantine all non-conforming product
• Generate and summarize non-conforming reports for discrepant products
• Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and identify and address issues with equipment that may need repair?
• Inspect and approve incoming materials where and when needed by confirming they meet specifications
• Attend department meetings as required
• Inspect and release products for shipping by ensuring proper documentation or certifications are provided as outlined by customer requirements. (Visual & Dimensional verification may be required)
• Learn and assist with dimensional verification of PPAP and 1st article parts
• Create internal Control Plans in accordance with customer and Advanced Laser requirements
• Operate FARO & Micro-Vu measurement equipment
• Provide direct support to the production floor by assisting with interpretation and development of manufacturing related documentation and providing proper measuring techniques
• Assist with calibration procedures and provide calibration of measuring equipment as outlined by Advanced Laser procedures and ISO Standard
