As a Manufacturing Test Support Engineer on the Manufacturing Test Engineering team, you will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair the test systems that are used in the manufacture of our Robotics Systems. You will document and deploy test equipment, software, and procedures for in-house production testing. To thrive in this role, you must have previous relatable experience, be self-motivated, and be able to work in a collaborative team-based environment with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, without sacrificing the quality of work.
How you will make an impact:
- First responder triage of line down issues related to in-house test systems.
- Conduct troubleshooting and failure analysis efforts on the production floor to improve engineering and assembly design as well as supplier quality.
- Support continuous improvement and change implementation efforts for in-house test systems.
- Develop and refine troubleshooting and repair procedures for test systems.
- Ensure that all relevant test system documentation is up to date and properly revision-controlled in PLM.
- Training both internal and external manufacturing in the use and support of production test equipment, test programs, and debug processes.
- Support station duplication, maintenance, and deployments for repair and service teams.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on experience building and debugging electro-mechanical assemblies
- Experience with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, and programmable loads
- Computer/programming skills with experience in Python and command-line and BIOS environments
- Familiarity with system-level debug and failure analysis and driving to root cause, working with engineering.
- Self-motivated and able to work in an ambiguous environment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow assembly documentation and adhere to production protocols
- Strong problem-solving abilities and will to address challenges beyond the primary area of expertise
- Have the flexibility to offset working hours to support occasional weekend shifts.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in electronics, robotics, mechatronics or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience from various industries (robotics, medical, defense) performing systems integration and test functions.
- Able to interpret mechanical assembly drawings and provide feedback to mechanical designers.
- Able to interpret electrical schematics and cable drawings and provide feedback to electrical designers and technicians.
- Test software development using programming languages such as Python in both Windows and Linux environments.
- Demonstrated experience with electrical, mechanical, and wire harness diagrams
- Familiarity with Jira or other ticket/issue management systems.
- Familiarity with using a PLM (e.g. Arena).
- Familiarity with asset tracking systems such as MaintainX and Asset Panda.
