Description:
The Machinist will support manufacturing operations by machining custom and standard parts, as well as modifying and machining components to fit customized equipment. This role is as part of a small, collaborative team and involves setting up and operating ProtoTRAK lathe and milling machines. The Machinist will operate equipment used to cut, turn, grind, and machine metal parts within precise geometric tolerances while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Requirements:- Set up and operate ProtoTRAK lathe and milling machines
- Operate manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts
- Machine, modify, and fit parts to meet production and custom equipment requirements
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and setup sheets
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments
- Inspect finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machinery
- Identify opportunities to improve part quality and production efficiency
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency with manual and CNC lathes and milling machines
- Experience with ProtoTRAK controls
- Mastercam experience
- Strong understanding of machining principles and tolerances
- Ability to accurately measure and inspect parts using precision instruments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effective time management and problem-solving skills
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 3 years of machining experience (manual and/or CNC)
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Perform repetitive tasks comfortably
