Position Summary

A highly respected healthcare organization in Worcester, Massachusetts, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Director to provide comprehensive leadership for its Critical Care Services , including the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

This confidential Director-level position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and is accountable for the overall strategic and operational success of the assigned multi-unit critical care areas. The role assumes 24/7 responsibility for unit operations, focusing on ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and appropriate patient care , promoting staff competency, and managing clinical resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and oversight for all clinical and operational activities within the critical care service lines.

• Actively participate in the assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice across the multi-unit level.

• Serve as a professional role model and advocate for the discipline of nursing within the organization.

• Collaborate directly with the CNO to align unit objectives with overall hospital strategy for clinical excellence and patient safety.

Qualifications and Experience

Details

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare-related field OR a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Master’s Degree in a healthcare-related field.

2+ years of progressive ICU management experience in a hospital setting, held at a Director or Manager level.

Active and current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.

Current CPR certification is required.

Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills , proven leadership ability, and strong hospital operational expertise.
