SVP, Campus Operations and Infrastructure
Overview
The Senior Vice President (SVP), Campus Operations & Infrastructure is a key executive leader responsible for the strategic oversight and operational excellence of facilities operations, capital construction, real estate, public safety, emergency management, food services, parking, employee services and operational business affairs. This role ensures the organization’s physical infrastructure, safety programs, and operational services effectively support mission delivery, growth, and long-term sustainability.
Reporting to the EVP, Chief Operating Officer & Chief Transformation Officer, the SVP partners across departments to align infrastructure investments, safety strategies, and operational resources with organizational priorities, regulatory requirements, and financial goals. Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in life changing breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care. Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute a comprehensive operations and infrastructure strategy aligned with organizational mission, growth, and financial objectives .
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on facilities, capital planning, risk management, and operational performance.
Lead long-range planning for campus or enterprise infrastructure, including space utilization , sustainability, and resilience.
Facilities Operations & Capital Programs
Oversee all facilities management functions, including maintenance, engineering, utilities, and environmental services.
Direct planning, design, and execution of capital construction and renovation projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
Establish standards for operational efficiency, preventive maintenance, and asset lifecycle management.
Real Estate & Space Management
Lead real estate strategy, including acquisitions, leasing, portfolio optimization, and disposition.
Oversee space planning and allocation to support evolving organizational needs and workforce models.
Ensure effective stewardship of physical assets to maximize value and utilization.
Public Safety & Emergency Management
Provide executive oversight of public safety operations, including security, access control, investigations, and threat assessment.
Lead enterprise-wide emergency management and business continuity programs, ensuring preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, accreditation standards, and risk mitigation practices.
Operations Business Affairs
Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and business operations for all areas within scope.
Drive operational efficiencies, cost management, and resource optimization across departments.
Establish performance metrics and reporting frameworks to monitor service delivery and outcomes.
Employee services
Oversee dining operations throughout DFCI and the DFCI regional network .
Manage parking services for employees
Manage General Services for employees
Leadership & Organizational Development
Build and lead high-performing, multidisciplinary teams across facilities, safety, and operations functions.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
Develop leadership talent and succession planning within the organization.
Education Requirements
Bachelors Required, MBA, MPA or related field preferred
Experience Required
12–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in facilities, operations, infrastructure, or related areas, with significant executive-level responsibility.
Demonstrated success overseeing complex capital programs, real estate portfolios, and safety/emergency management functions.
Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, capital planning, and cost optimization.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in highly regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, research, higher education, or corporate campuses) preferred .

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
