School jobs program
About the Role:
The Mayor's School Year Jobs Program will offer a combination of group and individual project-based work. As a whole group, you will participate in 2 hours of bi-weekly job-readiness and professional development skill building workshops. You will spend the other 6-8 hours per week working in departments throughout the City of Somerville.

Qualifications:
- Must live or attend school in Somerville
- Must be a current High School Student
- Must be 14 years of age by November 1, 2025.
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States as U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents
- 1 Adult Reference (The reference should be an adult who knows you well and knows is not related to you. Examples: Teacher, Guidance Counselor, Supervisor, Coach, etc.)
Hours & Pay:
- 8 hours per week/$18.28 per hour (schedules vary by placement)

- Interviews will take place November 19, 2025.
- First day of programming: January 26, 2026.

Pre-Employment Requirements for All Employees:
- MA Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) clearance
- Completion of Conflict-of-Interest Law Education training for municipal employees
