Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to take a leading role in building and enhancing an advanced AI-driven platform designed to power next-generation client solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, contributing directly to high-impact initiatives within a fast-evolving technical environment.
You will collaborate with a diverse, cross-functional team that includes senior leadership, domain experts, engineers, and data specialists. The focus of this role is to drive the customization and deployment of platform capabilities tailored for government and defense-related use cases.
As a technical leader, you will guide engineering efforts, oversee development quality, and translate strategic objectives into scalable technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and deployment of platform features for defense and public sector applications
Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers, including code reviews, mentoring, and best practice enforcement
Bridge product vision with engineering execution, ensuring alignment across stakeholders
Develop, test, debug, and maintain high-quality applications using Python, React, and Next.js
Leverage modern large language models (LLMs) for data processing, retrieval, and synthesis
Identify technical risks and proactively implement solutions to ensure system reliability and scalability
Stay current with advancements in generative AI and integrate relevant innovations into the platform
Collaborate with distributed global teams to deliver robust, secure, and scalable solutions

Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship (mandatory)
Experience working within defense or government environments , including handling data across classification levels
Active Secret clearance required (Top Secret or higher preferred)
8+ years of professional experience in software engineering
Technical Skills
Strong experience with distributed systems architecture and secure platform development
Proficiency in Python , along with front-end expertise in React and Next.js
Hands-on experience with SQL databases , especially PostgreSQL or equivalent cloud-based solutions (e.g., Amazon RDS)
Familiarity with LLMs and prompt engineering techniques
Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies
Exposure to knowledge graphs is a plus
