Medical Assistant, Pediatrics
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30-4pm OR 9am – 5pm WITH
- One late day from 11:00am – 7:00pm per week and one Saturday per month (half day)
- Pay: $23/hr – $25/hr plus benefits

Our Health Center provides a full range of primary and specialty care for adults and children, including Eye Care, Dental, Pediatrics, and OB/GYN services.
This role is a clinical and administrative position as a Medical Assistant in our Pediatrics department. It is an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation in outpatient pediatric care while working closely with providers, nurses, and administrative staff in a collaborative team environment.
Essential Functions
- Room patients and prepare exam rooms for pediatric visits.
- Record vital signs including height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels.
- Perform EKGs.
- Conduct point-of-care testing such as urine dipstick, urine pregnancy tests, rapid strep tests, and other basic diagnostics.
- Administer immunizations during provider appointments.
- Stock exam rooms and assist with inventory management.
- Manage patient paperwork including vaccination forms, consent forms, letters of clearance, and care documentation.
- Triaging incoming faxes and assisting with documentation management.
- Assist with medication refill requests and telephone encounters within the electronic medical record.
- Support providers and clinical staff in delivering efficient, high-quality pediatric care.

- Bilingual candidates (Spanish or Haitian Creole) are strongly preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to represent the organization professionally with patients and community partners.
- Intermediate computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and electronic medical record systems.
Work Environment
- This position operates primarily in a clinical outpatient pediatric setting.
Physical Demands
- Duties may require standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods throughout the workday.
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program. CNA certification may be accepted in lieu of MA certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Education/Experience
- Minimum of one year of experience working as a Medical Assistant.
Licenses & Certifications
- First Aid / Basic Life Support (BLS)
